Jonathan approached us to create a brand new e-commerce website for his auto parts business, to replace an old website which was no longer functioning correctly and was not mobile friendly. Issues also existed with credit/debit card payments through the old website which needed to be implemented on the new one.
With a large number of products manually entered onto the old website, Jonathan was keen to have these migrated onto the new website without having to manually enter each one again.
We were able to create a custom export of the product and category data from the existing website, taking a manual copy of all images from the original hosting, and then put together a bespoke import file which pulled the product and image data together so we were able to import this into the new website automatically. This ensured that all product details and images were retained with minimal manual alterations - the only manual work was to add the product options choices to a handful of products to cover colour and size variations.
Both PayPal and the latest SagePay functionality was built into the website, ensuring that the desired payment options were there for customers.
In-person training formed an important part of this project, with a number of face-to-face sessions to show CarSpeed Autoparts staff how to use the administration section of the new website to easily manage products, product options, categories and sales.
The result is a website that works great on all devices, with clients who are able to easily manage the website with on-going support also available at all times.
